Do you remember the free Precision Farming DLC for Farming Simulator 19 released in December 2020? If you haven’t downloaded it yet, you should do it as soon as possible. With this DLC, several new technologies have been added to the game to enable sustainable farming. However, this is only part of the transformation. The development team plans to further develop the intellectual side of the farming craft.
The main project in the development of Farming Simulator 22 is called Precision Farming.
The new DLC for FS22 promises us a lot of farming technologies for precision farming. The initial version will have a lot of interesting features by the time of release.
Soils will have several types. Before sowing the soil, you can take it for a test and evaluate the quality. The rate of fertilization for the soil can be changed depending on the need. The list of DLC features will also include economic analysis. You will also be able to increase the stability of farms with optical sensors. They are needed to minimize the use of herbicidal, organic and mineral fertilizers, which increase the survival of crops but reduce their usefulness and quality.
The Precision Farming project is developing rapidly.

Let’s return to Farming Simulator 19. The initial version of the Precision Farming DLC gained popularity among both PC and console users. The number of downloads at the time of release was more than a million. If you haven’t read the article about the first release of Precision Farming for FS19, we recommend that you read the following information. It will help you roughly understand what to expect from the DLC for FS22.
The project was created in 2020 by John Deere with funding from EIT Food. EIT Food is the leading association dedicated to bringing new technologies to the food industry. The goal of the project is to give interested players comprehensive information about sustainable farming technologies. Simply put, the project is more developmental and educational than purely playful. Perhaps if EIT Food had not been involved in its development, the goals would have been quite different.
Not only these two companies are participants in the project. Precision Farming has many partners from the European Union: the German University of Hohenheim, the British University of Reading, and the Spanish agricultural association Grupo AN, which deals with grain crops. In 2021, the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences joined the project. Researchers from this institute are actively developing the new farming technology, offering young farmers from Eastern Europe a taste of it in action. All the companies and communities involved in the development play a key role in the development and implementation of the project.
In parallel with the creation of Farming Simulator 22, which will be released on November 22, the development team is working on a new version of the Precision Farming DLC. Its release is scheduled for spring 2022. The content will be available absolutely free on all platforms for players who have Farming Simulator 22 on their accounts.
