  1. Most tractor and small loader "cvt"s are not belt drive, but hydrostatic IVTs. Belt CVTs aren't suited to frequent direction changes. It will be interesting to see if they do anything special to simulate "Vario" transmissions, which use an automatic gear transmissions in parallel with a hydrostatic IVT to overcome the power and efficiency limitations of hydrostatic drives on larger equipment. They are very effective but have some interesting interactions which could be an opportunity for sound design.

  2. Tractor CVTs / IVTs don't use belts they use an arrangement of gears and hydraulic pumps / motors you should search up how the fendt vario drive works its surprisingly simple once you wrap your head around how it works.
